Water treatment equipment is a key technology for ensuring water quality safety and improving water resource utilization efficiency. It is widely used in industrial, municipal, medical, and household applications. Water treatment equipment can be divided into multiple categories based on its function and application scenario, each providing solutions to specific water quality issues.

Classification by Function

1. Filtration Equipment: This equipment removes suspended matter and particulate matter from water through physical interception. Common examples include sand filters, activated carbon filters, and precision filters. This type of equipment typically serves as a pretreatment step, laying the foundation for subsequent deep-drain treatment.

2. Softening Equipment: This equipment primarily reduces water hardness by removing calcium and magnesium ions through ion exchange resins to prevent scaling. It is widely used in boilers, HVAC systems, and industrial production.

3. Purification Equipment: This equipment targets microorganisms, organic matter, and dissolved contaminants. Reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), and nanofiltration (NF) equipment, for example, effectively removes bacteria, viruses, and heavy metals and is suitable for drinking water and industrial pure water production.

4. Disinfection Equipment: These devices use ultraviolet light, ozone, or chemical agents to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms in water, ensuring water quality and safety. They are commonly used in drinking water and medical water applications.

Classification by Application
Industrial Water Treatment Equipment: These include cooling water treatment systems, wastewater reuse equipment, and zero-discharge systems, meeting water conservation and environmental protection requirements in industrial production.
Municipal Water Treatment Equipment: These include sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection equipment used in waterworks, as well as biological treatment and membrane separation equipment used in sewage treatment plants.
Home and Commercial Equipment: These include water purifiers, water softeners, and centralized water treatment systems, directly ensuring safe drinking and water use in homes and businesses.
Selecting water treatment equipment requires a comprehensive consideration of raw water quality, treatment objectives, and operating costs. With increasing environmental protection requirements, efficient and energy-saving water treatment technologies will become a key development direction for the industry.
